Adaptation
Choice of the definitive lens
BioMax lenses are custom-made, so provide us with the following data:
For Multifocals we will also need :
Fitting rules
You can choose the parameters of the lenses (without guarantee of fit), by applying the following rules :
13.50: R0=Km+0.2 14.00: R0=Km+0.4
14.50: R0=Km+0.6 15.00: R0=Km+0.8
Evaluation of fit
After insertion, wait for 5 to 10 minutes before evaluating the fit.
A good-fitting lens:
Poor Fit
Recommended Actions:
Increase the diameter by at least 0.50 or tighten R0 by at least 0.2 mm
Tight Fit
Recommended Actions:
Decrease the diameter by at least 0.50 or flatten R0 by at least 0.2 mm
Cyl axis rotation
In toric lens, check the marking of the axis which must be at 6 o’clock, and in case of rotation note the position.
Recommended actions:
If you communicate the rotation to us, lenses under warranty will be redone taking into account this parameter
Fit for multifocals
Multifocal lenses require an adjustment time of at least 4 days of regular wear.
The patient must be motivated and aware that there is a trade-off between wearing contact lenses and good depth of field.
Fit protocol
VL : Correction with maximum convex
VP : Minimum addition in binocular
Determination of the dominant eye:
- The subject wears his best correction in VL, and binocularly fixes the optotype from a distance,
- Alternately place a +0.75 lens in front of each eye and ask the wearer when they are most uncomfortable.
- The most uncomfortable eye is the dominant eye.
